Flew off from Terminal 3, our first flight out from the new terminal. Nice clouds with shot taken on the plane.
The temperture was a cool 21°C when we touched down. We were expecting the weather to be much hotter. Anyway, had our first meal at Taipei at "Young", a theme resturant in Ximenting. The food is not bad and I would say that its cheap. The dinner set which includes a main course, salad, soup, a drink and a dessert only cost around S$12
A cute dog at one of the store in Ximenting. Very obedient too, he will just sit by the entrance of the door and will not step out of it. This bred of dog is now very popular in Taiwan.
Yam ice from 鲜芋仙,a dessert store you can find all over Taipei... but we prefer...
There is nothing much on this 山. Maybe we went at a wrong season, not much flowers to look at. However, the place is very cooling and very relaxing as compared to the Taipei city. They got this "famous" flower clock.
Old auntie selling roasted purple color sweet potato on the 山. Very sweet. So our verdict of this 山 is that it is not worth visitng again. Come once and it is sufficient liao.
Danshui Old Street, 淡水老街
Minutes walk away from Danshui Metro Station. Very crowded on the day we went there because it was a Sunday and also a Mothers' Day. The atmostphere is totally different when we went there last year on a weekday. So recomended to visit on weekends. One of the must visit place. Lots of food and stuffs to buy. The famous 阿婆铁蛋 is also here. I think it is the place where we spent the most.
After all the food and shopping, can walk by the seaside to watch the sunset and enjoy the breeze. Many Taiwanese will walk their cute 狗狗 by the seaside too.
《我猜我猜我猜猜》
Raohe Night Market
After the show we went to the nearby Raohe night market for my favourite 芒果冰!
Also had some 锅贴... Raohe is famous for their 胡椒饼,always long Q. Did not try it this time because we did last year and actually nothing to shout for.
Modern Toilet
This is a theme resturant we went to which is located at Ximenting. This resturant is very popular with youngster and advance booking is advice. This resturant will serve their food in toilet bowls. Food is so-so and price is reasonable.
Their ice-cream is in the shape of poo.....
They also has this super big shaved-ice, can serve at least 4 pax. Of course, we cannot finished the bloody ice. I think name of the ice is something like "passing out blood".
Mirama Ferris Wheel
We also went to take Taipei ferris wheel. A free shuttle bus from Jantan Metro Stn took us there. We never took our own local Singapore Flyers, but we specially travelled to Mirama for their ride. Only cost S$7+ only.
We shopped at the nearby shopping centre and waited for...
night falls.
Us on the wheel, just the two of us... love love love....
Shilin Night Market
After Mirama, we are back at Shilin for more food and shopping... this is our last night at Taipei.
Look at the long Q, these hungry people are after the famous 豪大大鸡排。
And we saw cute little Bobby on sale. Snap a pic for WB... Not one, but....
two of them!
Taoyuan Airport
It was 16 May 2008 and we were ready to head home. But, before we board the plane, we had our cakes! Yum Yum Yum......
In conclusion to my first ever super long post with pics, Taipei is really a place worth visiting. The food, the shopping, the very friendly Taiwanese and of course the many cute 美眉, will definately make us return to Taipei again....
