Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Finally got the DVD which contains some 2000+ photos of our pre-wedding photoshoot. Out of these 2000+ photos, we are to select some 50-55 photos for the album. Not going to be easy I guess... Anyway, here are some of the samples photos we got...

This photo was taken outside the studio at Linden Dr.

Hort Park....

Airport T3

Ben & Jerry, Dempsey Road

PageOne, VivoCity

Seriously, the photos did not come out as good as what I had expected. Maybe because in the first place, I had set pretty high expectation. Anyway, I think we should be able to select some really nice photos to be in the album. The rest of the photos, I think maybe we should spend some money and time to print them out and arrange them in our own photo album....

Our Bintan trip

This is pretty overdue.... but well, since when I am on time...

Here goes, Our Bintan Trip

Date : 06 Sep to 07 Sep

Place : Maya Sari Resort, Nariwana Gardens, Bintan

This is suppose to be a couple-trip with 5 couples going. In the end, a couple could not make it while one of the gals went alone, making our group 7 persons; Me, dear, JW, KT, TT, Andrew and NaNa.

This is our first time to Tanah Merah Ferry terminal; was surprise that there was a Killiney Kopitiam there. Well, at least I also know that this Killiney Kopitiam served sucky kopi.

Here are some photos.

The ferry that took us to Bintan.

Got us some beers before the trip.... In the end, we got to drink these beers as punishment because we cannot finished them......

Our ferry ride. Took a little more than an hour. The sea was choppy, making us sick.

First taste of the feeling of kanna tok. The food is expensive. We decided to share a portion as I do not want to become a carrot head. Our lunch which we waited for about 45 mins?

After lunch, we headed straight to the beach. The gals stayed under the shades, while the guys....

... took a dip in the sea. The water soon became choppy and the big waves comes in. That's when it is most fun... keke...

The next day...... Our breakfast was not too bad. They have a pretty good spread of food.

Took a photo outside our room. We are so into self-taken pics recently.. hee. The room is chalet style and is pretty cosy inside. Too bad we did not take a pic of the room.

Me; getting ready for another round of swim before we pack up and leave. Hmmm... where is my dear then???

Here she is! Enjoying herself under the coconut trees, as expected... Ha.. but well, she did join us for the beach volleyball. But let's see what is she looking at.....

.. oh the coconuts trees.. waiting for a nut or two to drop.

Took some time off from our volleyball game to fool around for the camera.

Soon comes the time we head home.

There is really nothing much to do at Bintan. We did try their Indonesian massage for about SGD32 for an hour at the Paseh Oleh Oleh. It was okie but left us with oily bodies... ha.

So, Bintan is a place whereby it is so so so commercialised. Everywhere you go, everything u does are meant for tourists. And this place is so darn expensive. They really think that it is so easy to earn our Singaporeans money. They will try to tok our money as much as they can. Be it in food or the water sports they offer. Nevertheless, we had a pretty good time there. The sky is blue, the sea is clear; something we do not get here in Singapore. Although the price is abit steep, this is one of the place to go if you just feel like doing nothing but go for a swim or a spa.

Singapore Flyers

Date: 04 Sep 2008, Thurs

As a Teachers' Day special, all MOE teachers get to enjoy free ride on the Singapore Flyers. Furthermore, friends of the teachers get to enjoy 25% of the regular ticket price. We decided to take up this offer and paid slightly more than $20 for both of us. I must said that although nothing great, it is worth the time and effort to try the Flyers at least once, just to get the feel of it. Anyway, the Flyers is damn inaccessible. There is a shettle bus there. But please lor, for those going there for the first time, they will not know where to take this bus lor.

Well, here are some pics taken during our rides.

Saw this wedding couple taking photos at the car park. Hee.. remind us of our own photoshoot the day before...

Nose to nose...

Guess what, the pic below is self-taken.

Soccer field at the Floating gallery... Heard they are planning for some soccer matches on this field... Hmmm wonder how many soccer balls will end up in the sea.

Pebblebay condo...

Our CBD...

After our ride which lasted about 25 mins, went for our dinner at Kenny Rogers. They changed their system of service. You do not order any more from the counter. You will be seated and then you order from their staffs. I still prefer ordering from the counter... Less waiting and no 10% service charge!

Lastly, went to lim kopi and had some cakes at TCC. Decided to make some faces...

In a few hours time, we will be leaving for Bintin for a short trip... Yahoooooo....

Photos!!

Some photos that were taken during our wedding photoshoot on 03 Sep 2008.

Here Jesslin, the make-up-artist is doing up the hair for my dear. Jesslin h'susband is the owner of a hair studio so she is also a good hairstylist. Actually, it is not easy to get a make-up-artist who is also a good hairstylist. This Jesslin is pretty pro, can change the style of hairdo in under a minute! Yap, no joke. She is good.

Now, its my turn. Just some powder on my scarred face and a simple hairdo.

My dear getting all ready in her wedding gown. She look gorgeous, don't you think so?

Putting on the final touches before the shoot starts.

We are all ready!! Beauty and her 白马王子. Wow haha...

Finally, a last photo taken after our photoshoot, while waiting for dinner to come. Hungry and tired...
Did not took much photos with our own camera. The rest of our photos are still with our photographer. Can't wait to collect our CDs with our pics.

Photoshoot.... Yipeeeeeeee!!!

Today is our pre-wedding photoshoot. Had been planning for the photoshoot the past few months. Looking for gowns, shoes, flowers and etc..... It is really alot of work as we are doing photoshoot ala-crate, as in not with any bridal studio. Although, there are more preparation to be done, I believed that we had enjoy every moment of it.

Anyway, our shoot was scheduled to be at 8 am, with the make-up-artist coming at the same time to do make-up. So, left my home at about 7.10 am. Well, in the car, listening to the radio, the weather focus for the day was "cloudy the whole day with rains and storms in the late morning and early afternoon". Those who take photos will know that such weather will ruin the whole phototaking process.. Still, we proceed for our shoot happily leaving the all our worries to the sky.

As things turn out, we got a clear blue sky in the early morning. Not a single drop of rain, not even any clouds in sight. However, we are only doing studio shoot in the morning. :(

After our studio shoots, our kind photograher, Terry of OneEyeClick decided to catch the good weather and take a few quick outdoor shoots outside his studio. Simple and yet nice shoots.

So, after lunch we headed out to the Airport, Dempsey Road, Vivocity and Hort Park as planned. Guess what? The sky only starts to rain after we had completed our photoshoot! Cannot believe our luck. If it rains before we go to Hort Park, we will not have much of the greenery shoots. Well, at least now we got more greenery.

Overall, we had tons and tons of fun. We even had strangers saying congrats to us. Some even took our photos... haha...

It must also be the day when we smile and laugh the most. It's been a tiring day, but surely one that is truly enjoyable and memorable....

Wedding Shopping Spree

Today went for shopping to get things for our wedding. Our shopping mentality is straight forward, get our shopping list and just focus to get what we wanted. In fact, we got almost all of what we wanted. Here is our final shopping loots.

1) Dear's shoes - $197.20
2) My leather shoes - $69.95
3) My jogging shoes - $170
4) My socks - $9.95
5) My shirts - $50
6) My cuff-links - $60
7) My Arsenal jersey - $90
8) Our NYDC dinner - $50

So total damage for today, grand total of almost $700! Yeah, both of us spent SINGAPORE DOLLARS $700 on shopping in just one day!!!! This must had been the day that we had spent so much $$$$$ on shopping in a single day. Well, we should spent the money that we had earned. Like what I had heard before, 活着的时候是财产,死了之后是遗产。So we must spent all what we had earned...... hmmm well, at least I felt better now... :p

Anyway, I am officially a 舅舅 now, finally. My sister gave birth to a bouncy baby boy on 22 Aug 2008 @ 2011 hours.... can't wait to have one of my own.....

Shocking News!!

Silvestre set for shock move to Arsenal

Mikaël Silvestre, the long-serving Manchester United defender, is on the verge of foregoing a testimonial season at Old Trafford to become the club's first player to be sold to Arsenal for 34 years.

Arsène Wenger instigated the move yesterday after learning that the former France international had been holding talks with Manchester City and Sunderland. Silvestre had provisionally agreed a move to City before contacting the club yesterday to apologise and say he could not resist the opportunity to work for Wenger, to live in London and be involved in the Champions League.

Paris St Germain had also offered the 31-year-old a contract but Silvestre informed Wenger last night that Arsenal were his first choice and, if everything goes according to plan, the deal will be concluded in time for him to make his debut at Fulham on Saturday.

The move is expected to cost Arsenal in the region of £750,000 and will represent one of the biggest transfer shocks of the summer given United's usual reluctance to do business with any of their major rivals and the fact Ferguson has never allowed a player of his to defect to Wenger's side. Brian Kidd was the last United player to go in the same direction, in 1974, and Silvestre would have been entitled to a testimonial had he stayed at Old Trafford one more season.

Another surprise for Arsenal's fans is that Wenger does not regard the former Internazionale defender merely as a squad player, or as a back-up for Gaël Clichy at left-back, but as a first-choice centre-half alongside William Gallas, primarily as a replacement for Philippe Senderos.
City had been the first club to approach Silvestre and their failure to pull it off represents a major disappointment for Mark Hughes after his difficult start to life as Sven-Goran Eriksson's successor.

City's problems were compounded yesterday when it emerged they were the subject of a possible Fifa inquiry into claims that they had failed to pay some of the money they allegedly owe in the £8m signing of the Brazilian international midfielder Elano Blumer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
News from www.guardian.co.uk .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Need I say more?? Players from Man United coming over to Arsenal is really a taboo itself. Few players would ever think of doing that; much lesser had made the move. But well, if this guy comes over, he should provide some experience cover at the back...
Mad Mad Saturday.
Had a pretty hectic Saturday. My initial plan was to have a relax day at home before going out in the afternoon. However, things start to get really wrong from the morning.
Made my wedding suits with a neighbourhood store and the result is darn bloody bad. Poor workmanship, lousy lousy materials, which left me freaking MAD. Darn bloody tailor said can complete my suits in 10 days but in the end, more than 2 weeks still not complete. Still must wait till next Tuesday. This tailor is so confident of himself that he said that there is not need for fitting. I was freaking stupid to trust him. Ended up my pants was so bloody tight and so freaking darn short. Well, enough is enough. Decided to seek out another tailor in Chinatown and forgo all my deposit with the bloody tailor. I cannot afford to waste more time, my photoshoot is in 2 weeks.
Anyway, when to a tailor recommended by my future cousin. Hope the result will be good. At least this tailor needs fitting, which I think is darn important. So, my lesson learn here is to always seek out options and go for recommendation by friends. The theory of 一分钱一份货 is always right. Try to save some $$$ and in the end you will lose more.
Anyway, after getting the tailor made my suits in Chinatown, its time for my dear to have her first fitting at Ted Collection. Well, I guess I am more excited in seeing the result of her dresses. Well, well, well, the results came out really good. We are pleased with what we seen, in fact very pleased. And the dresses are only about 70% done. The details of the dresses are not yet completed. Am happy that we had chose the right designers for for the dresses, really is 一分钱一份货, as these dresses do not come cheap. Well, I must say, $$$ well-spent, at this moment. Managed to met one gal from sgbrides forum, wanted to see her much talk about Peacock dress but due to time constraint, got to go off for our Korean dinner.
Korean dinner at Furama City Center was good. The BBQ pork with green vegi was with big serving. Ginseng chicken is heavenly too. Bill for 3 pax - $90 after a 10% "face" discount. The owner of this restaurant will give discount to regulars. Not forgetting, the service is 9/10, super. Did not get a 10/10 because the service is too good that we are pai seh that we could not finished the food.
After sending dear home, off I go ad meet my recently-got-regular drinking kakis at CCK park. First time there, bad place to go. Limited parking and only Malay food is served. So, pretty limited choice I must say. Drink kopi, eat satay, talk cock sing song, talk about the old days, chat about future plans.... and before we knew it, all lights of the restaurant was closed. We left at around 2.15 am....
Old Airport Rd Lor Mee
Today, was in the region of Old Airport Rd. Thus, decided to drop by at the Old Airport Rd Hawker Centre for the famous Lor Mee. People said that you can easily identified this store just by the long number of people Q-ing for this Lor Mee. Well, 果然名不虚传, there is a Q of at least 10 person to this Lor Mee store.
Decided to Q for it and ordered three bowls of $4/- Lor Mee. Took about 30 mins before its my turn. I ordered meehoon-mee.
So what's my take for this Lor Mee? Hmmm.. when I take the first bite, it reminds me of 阿宗面线 of Taipei. They has the same thickness of gravy. However, the 料 inside the Mee is different. The Lor Mee has crispy fried fish, Lor egg and some pork, while 阿宗面线 is only the pork intestines. What I can say is that the Lor Mee is good and you will feel very satisfying after eating it.
However, if you ask me if I will still Q up for 30-mins for this Lor Mee, my answer will be NO. The Lor Mee is good, but it is not something that will make me crave for it.. unlike my 阿宗面线......
:p
Durian mania
I love durians. I especially loves the feeling of finding and picking up durians that had just fallen from the durian trees...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When I was a small kid, I always love to follow my dad to his jossticks' factory which is located in some very ulu kampong area in the mist of the cemetery area near to Thomson area. To get to the factory, we need to take a bus and walk in from the main road of PIE (near to Mount Pleasant). The walk normally takes about an hour and seriously, we got to pass many obstacles.

As kids, we would fear the sight of Chinese tombstones all around the places. Then there would be commandos mosqitos! Then there would also be stray dogs running all around. My dad taught us this trick if we should come face to face with a fierce dog ready to attack you. Firstly, of course, we should NOT try to outrun the dog. You run, the siao gao will 100% go after you. So, when you are face with the dog, just kneel down and pretend to pick up a rock (of course if there is a rock, pick up the rock) and pretend to throw it towards the dog. The siao gao thinking that you had thrown a rock at it, should back off. Well, we tried before and it seems to work. However, do not try this at home because it just apply to kampong dogs. Maybe the dogs there did not know about the theory of Pavlov's dogs of Classical Conditioning.

So, why do I love to go to such ulu places when I could enjoy my TV at home? There are many reasons. One of the reasons is that there are lots of fruit trees in this kampong area. There will be fruits like bananas, coconuts, starfruits, jackfruits, papaya, rambutans, mangos and of course my favourite durians trees!!

It is especially exciting comes durian season. Kids from other kampong houses will all come together. Mind you, we are not the best of friends. In fact, we are enemies!! We will fight for durians! Of course, we did not exactly fight, but fight to be the one to find a fallen durian. Once we heard the sound of a dropped durians, you can see all kids searching fanatically for the thorny fruit. The one who found the fruit would hold up the durian as if he is lifting a World Cup trophy, short of kissing it. I seldom managed to retrive any durians as I was too young then. I was like a 5-6 years old boy running around without my underwear! However, the fun of searching for a fallen durian always makes me wanting to follow my dad to his ulu factory.

Life then was really so carefree. We played with dogs, catch fishes in the river and played with big grasshoppers which dad would catch for us deep into the forest. My childhood seems to be so fun......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Opps.. I have diverted so much. Well, back to today. Somehow, we found ourselves in a forested area with lots of durian trees! My childhood memories all come back at once! Since we are there, we walk around the area and discovered that the place had already been searched by durians pickers. There is not a single durian in sight. However, I was lucky to find one BIG one later. Was also lucky to retrieve another 2 small ones. Brought the fruits back for my parents and sis. Well, the fruit is heavenly. Freshy fresh with thin durian skin. Haha local kampong durians hand picked by me.. of course must be nice lah..
Few kampong durians can bring me back so much of my childhood memories...........
10 Promises to My Dog
Plot
"A 12-year-old girl named Akari gets a puppy and names it Socks. She loves Socks and spends practically every moment with him. However, as she gets older she's able to spend less and less time with him, due to a busy life and having to move away. She leaves socks with a childhood friend but eventually she's reminded of the promises she made to him as a child."
My Weekend
Photobucket
The weekend had come and goes, just like that. Had few plans actually for the past weekend, but nothing materialise. Had wanted to watch the Kung Fu Panda on Saturday and then go to Southern Ridges on Sunday. Plan to have park my car at Telok Blangah Hill Park and walk all the way to Vivo City for makan and some shopping before we walk back for our car.
However, we not able to do either as my grandmum had passed away on Saturday (thanks for the condolences). Anyway, we should watch that fat panda show soon and carried out our journey on the Southern Ridges.
Nevertheless, yesterday just went thru' our Taipei trip photos. I think I will definitely want to visit Taipei again, for the fourth time. Dear, you wanna go again? Haha....
Beware friends, the flu bug is flying around town.
